Since our public listing in May 2020, we have created the foundational building blocks of our company with the goal of providing access to safe, evidence-based psychedelic-assisted psychotherapies. These building blocks include:
Raising $27.5M in 2020 and $40M in 2021;
Acquiring MindSpace, a full-service well-being organization that is pioneering psychedelic programming and has two operating clinics in Montreal;
Collaborating with MAPS Public Benefit Corporation to deliver MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD through a compassionate access trial;
Signing an agreement with Syreon to undertake a compassionate access clinical trial of psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy for substance use disorders;
Creating a Health Canada licensed, 7,000 -square-foot lab to possess, produce, formulate and export a variety of psychedelics including Ketamine, LSD, MDMA and Psilocybin.
As the Director of Public Relations, you’ll leverage your extensive network of media contacts across Canada to keep journalists informed and writing about all things Numinus. And there’s a lot to write about. You’ll help to define our story and position the Company as the destination for the best therapists and practitioners in Canada, a leader in client and clinical care, an innovator in advancing the science of psychedelics, and a catalyst for change in the global mental health and wellness revolution.
Your storytelling and writing skills reflect your joy of the craft. You’re well versed in message creation, proactive and reactive public relations as well as issues management. And you’ll enjoy working closely with exceptional leaders in business strategy and development, M&A, operations, clinics, science, medicine, research, capital markets and marketing to connect with key audiences, raise awareness about the Company and the sector, and help turn our stakeholders into advocates for our mission, vision and values.
Developing and refining the company’s PR and earned media planning, strategy and messaging
Managing, fostering and developing media contacts across Canada and the United States
Pitching and landing stories that resonate with key audiences
Overseeing agency relationships, managing internal media resources and upskilling staff
Creating insights from company data to produce compelling narratives and tracking and analyzing campaigns for their reach and effectiveness
Developing and executing town hall meetings including the development of scripts and presentations
Reviewing, drafting and editing media releases, briefing notes, presentations and other key internal and external communication materials
Supporting the development of communication materials and employer branding as it relates to the attraction of practitioners, therapists and clients
Supporting the executive team’s thought leadership platform, including strategy, counsel and tactical implementation and oversight
Acting as a spokesperson and backgrounding media from time to time
Supporting campaigns with external stakeholders such as government and academics to advance awareness and advocacy for psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy
Developing and executing impactful events, activations and campaigns that support company objectives and generate earned media
The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully.
A degree in communications, journalism or related experience
Strong storytelling and communication skills with experience creating engaging campaigns and activations
Strong writing skills with experience creating and editing compelling content, presentations, speeches, webinars and other public engagement materials
A track record in strategizing, developing and executing effective and successful campaigns
A strong network of media contacts or understanding of the media landscape across Canada and the United States
Experience working cross-functionally across all areas of an organization
Experience leading a small internal team as well as managing external agencies and contractors
Exposure to high-growth and innovative environments
Experience in health, biotech, life sciences and/or technology would be an asset
Bilingualism would be an asset

If you are located in Vancouver, due to government health regulations for COVID-19, our teams are working remotely. Once COVID-19 restrictions are eased, our teams will have the option of working from our office in Gastown.
